How should I go about asking a restaurant if they'd share a recipe with me?
Post Body

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, I don't know where else to do so.

I recently traveled out of the province with my partner and wanted to try all the local vegan places. One night we were there, I ordered a risotto and was blown away at how delicious it was. I tried to guess what flavors there were, but I just couldn't put my finger on it. I have been craving this risotto every day since and I so badly want to make it at home, knowing I'll never be in that city again.

I know sometimes restaurants don't mind giving away a recipe to a customer who really enjoyed the food, so I'm hoping to reach out to them and find out if that's the case here. I'm feeling quite hopeful as they have some of their recipes on their website, but I totally understand if their won't share. I'm just not sure what exactly to say in a message like that? Could anyone help me out?

Thanks!

That's the problem for me, I can never go back, it's half way across the country and I can't afford to travel for some risotto. I mostly just need to know what ingredients they use to get that kind of flavour/texture.

Unfortunately I'm not able to ask in person as the restaurant is half way across the country.
