I've had my starry for a couple of months and it's used almost daily. I generally use it between 375-395°.
A couple of days ago, I noticed it would sometimes just shut off in the middle of a session even with a fresh battery. There wouldn't be any warnings and it seemed to be at random.
Yesterday, it started saying "Out Short" and "Low Voltage". It seemed to work if I was pushing the battery door shut. Then later in the evening, it just wouldn't turn on at all.
After some disassembly, I discovered the wire connected to the positive side had become desoldered. Im guessing it's because the unit is getting too hot too frequently.
I'm thinking that if I resolder the wire, it'll eventually come off again and I'll be back to square one. My question is, if I put a glob of heat resistant epoxy over the connection do y'all think it'll be ok to use? (After I resolder the wire) Or has anyone else come up with a better fix?
