Traveling with pets - Choice of vehicle?
Post Body

Okay, long story short. just over 2 months ago, my 12 year marriage ended suddenly. I'm (luckily) staying with some very good friends, but am working towards getting a van, converting it, and hitting the road full time.

BUT, this weekend picking up my remaining belongings (the last part of the divorce settlement), my plans have two new wrenches thrown into the works. In the form of two cats, Megan and Mouse, who were a wedding gift. I now have sole custody of them (not going into detail about the abuse they've been through over the last 2 months).

So now, instead of outfitting a vehicle for myself (and a companion), I find myself outfitting a vehicle with precious cargo aboard.

Leaving the cats behind or giving them away is NOT an option.

My original plan was to get a Ford E150. What would you suggest I outfit now? Would an E-Series still work? Should I start looking for a shuttle bus, or a short school bus instead?

The girls are both 12 years old (littermates), so they're not rambunctious kittens if that helps decide.
