Fixing things while on the road?!

Post Body

This is more a question of those who’ve already been out on the road at various times. How often have you found yourself needing to fix something within your rigs that you could really use help and/or some specialty tools to do? Like plumbing fittings going bad, cabinets that are coming down, something that needs welded.

I’m in the deep planning stage and about to sell my house. I plan on using a Stepvan because I need some space for living and some space for hauling service tools and stuff. On the radar are ones with at least 10k pounds of capacity. I’m planning to set myself up with a fair bit of stuff. I don’t really want to give up many of my tools since I’ll be using them to earn my living. A lot of the tools would be things that are helpful when making repairs or upgrades to a lot of build systems. I’m talking plumbing, electrical, carpentry, probably a welder or two. All the things that could get others out of a pinch.

If someone had all this stuff available with them when you crossed paths and they were willing to help get you out of a bind… would you take advantage of it?
