Hey everyone… not so random battery question. I’m a Jack of all trades type so I’ve got a pretty solid base knowledge about a vast array of mechanical and electrical topics. Unfortunately solar stuff is new to me and I’m doing my research so I don’t mess this part up. I’m going to pony up the funds in the beginning to make sure the electrical is pretty solid as I don’t want that to be my limiting factor.
I’m set on using lifopo4 batteries. I’ve read about the drawbacks with temperatures. I’m not super planning to hangout in the tundra but occasional snow days are likely. I’m going to be using a box truck to build out a stealth rig with recessed solar panels on the roof. I know the smarter idea is to put these barriers outside of the box somewhere but is there a reason I can’t have them inside the box of the rig so they are more temp stable? I was thinking about mounting them in a sealed compartment with a pc style fan to vent to the exterior. It’s either that or I do an underbody mount box that I insulate and just let the self heating feature do it’s thing.
Anyone want to throw any pointers or tell me why either is a stupid idea. I’m here to take notes!
