Do you have a voting question? I’ll text my dad for you
Post Body

With a big election coming up, I figured I’d again offer the services of my dad to answer all voting and elections questions you might have. My dad is Greg Kimsey (https://i.imgur.com/sJ6hoQi.gif), and he’s the Clark county auditor. He’s running for something like his sixth re-election this year.

I’ve long made my dad answer all my dumbest voting questions via text, and am happy to share that service with Clark county voters. Ask anything here and I’ll get back to you eventually with his answer. These are the busiest weeks of the year for him, so it might be slow. Here’s the contact info for his office if you’d rather get a more direct and speedy route for your questions: https://clark.wa.gov/elections/contact

You may have seen some signs around town from his opponent challenging his integrity around elections handling. I have two things I’d share in response to that claim. One is that there have been various lawsuits accusing him of various misdeeds through his 20 year tenure as auditor. Zero of them have ever found any wrong doing on his end.

The other is a story. The Clark county elections office used to process the votes for student government elections at VANSD high schools. When I was a junior in VSAA, I ran a campaign for a position in student government. I lost by a /landslide/. Like, so badly that my dad wouldn’t even tell me the split. Instead he picked me up from school, took me to Beaches and told me that the outcome didn’t matter. It’s how you conduct yourself along the way that matters.

Edit: a couple people have asked if my dad is a republican or a democrat. Here’s his response:

“ In Washington voter’s don’t officially declare party affiliation, except for voters who choose to participate in the presidential primary.

So, no I’m not a registered anything ”

Happy voting!

Please thank your father for all his service! He definitely has my vote, I’ve seen nothing but good service from him.
