My mom and her partner are getting up in years and have recently begun talking about their wishes, particularly when it comes to money. I've told them I'm not sure that it would be feasible to do some of what they have said, and almost certainly not entirely legal (nothing untoward) but they are balking at the idea of spending the money on getting an attorney involved to do things right.
So, I'm getting ready to take the matters into my own hands and getting it done out of my own pocket to ensure things are done right so that the money can be used as they intend it to be and isn't forfeited to the bank or the government (especially since they aren't legally partnered.) And also so I don't go to jail for identity theft.
Does anyone have any recommendations or experiences with estate attorneys in the Vancouver area?
