an experienced modded players wanna help me figure out how to optimize my solo experience?

So I've been playing on a mostly vanilla server with a few minor qol mods and would like to venture into modding my solo play, problem is, when I look at the list of mods on thunderstore, I get confused and overwhelmed. I know roughly what I'd like to add to my game, just don't know how to do it without running into problems, I have a discord I can invite someone knowledge who'd be willing to help out to chat, and I'd greatly appreciate it!
