Hi all,
Planning an itinerary for Vail in the summer - looking at 2 days, maybe one. I live in Broomfield. Haven't quite fleshed out if I want to commute back and forth yet, but have 4 out of state people coming so wanted to stay in Vail. We're looking to go first week of June since it seems lodging is cheapest then of the summer dates. We are planning to stay at the Grand Hyatt Vail. Is this a good choice? Mainly chose it since it's resort-y and very near Gore Creek. Never been to the area but figure we could just hit a trail somewhere from the hotel. We are bringing the dogs out and figure it could be good to take them around and/or fish there also
Speaking of fishing, all I see are expensive guided tours - are we fine just bringing our own rods and fishing? Or is everything around here pretty much you have to pay to do stuff.
Rough itinerary was to really just find a zipline place, do some fishing, hike a few spots, explore Vail and Lionshead Village, maybe do some MTB, try some of the food, and let the people experience the farmer's market on Sunday, heard it's kind of cool.
Does 2 days seem too much? Going to be Saturday and Check out 4pm Monday. Saturday might be a half day depending on when the people arrive in Denver.
Feel free to add or comment on this please.
Questions I have:
What do the prices for the zipline places look like? I have seen very outrageous prices (850 for 4), and also reasonable/cheap (100 for 9) from Zipline Adventures from tripadvisors. Willing to shell out some money, but it has to be reasonable, lol.
Thanks!
