I am on the second last week of my second co-op rn. Basically I worked hard and finished requirements and so on; my supervisor also gave me very positive reviews when I talked to her. She told me she submitted the performance evaluation so I logged in WaterlooWorks to check.
And that's when I found I got a "Good", and I was surprised. I remembered I heard people saying how ratings are inflated, so I looked up some statistics (i.e. 95% students get "very good" and above). Then I tried to talk to my manager who told me I had good performance over the term and that's why I got "Good", and when I showed her the "95%" data she just said the guidelines she received beforehand did not contain the "95%".
I guess my future co-op search on WaterlooWorks is ruined! Thank you for ruining it and justifying it with your own idea when I have showed you how inflated the ratings are.
The funny thing is I often stayed at work to work some extra more, maybe like 1-2 hours every week after 5 p.m. I guess I did all these for my manager to place me below 95% of the co-op students.
I want to laugh but actually I am crying because this is just unfair. If they told me I had poor performance I would accept this rating. But giving me compliments and throwing a "Good" rating at me? Am I supposed to laugh or what.
