UWA is introducing multi factor authentication. While there documentation recommends using Microsoft Authenticator, there are alternatives which may be better suited to managing MFA requirements and often include more features and better security.
Some alternatives include Duo mobile and FreeOTP as well as Authy, which is probably the most feature of all the 2FA apps, allowing you to verify 2FA from more than just your phone as well as syncing your accounts across multiple devices.
Additionally, consider using a password manager such as Lockwise or Bitwarden. Password Managers allow you to create a password per app, so if one of your passwords gets compromised, the damage is limited to a single account and your other accounts are still protected.
