I currently have an internet connection of 24down and 2 wireless dvr tv boxes and one wired dvr tv box hooked to the modem.
I've been a customer going on 8-9 years. I've always had hiccups in service, same as when I had Comcast which would normally fix themselves.Nothing worse than internet service out etc
Well about 2 years ago, I started getting constant drops in service. My internet would slow to 1mbps or lower for days. My tv receivers would get the 5 point prompt of reconnecting your receiver to regain service. Since then, I've had a tech out about once a month and sometimes even more frequently. I think I've had atleast 6 or 7 new modems in that time. New access points. New tv boxes and finally a bonded pair installed which seem to help for awhile then quickly degrade to where it was before.
As of today, I just had someone come out last week who installed an AirTies wireless extender which fixed issues in one part of my house. Wouldn't you know it though, as soon as he left, the AirTies disconnected along with my wireless boxes. I'm about to call technical support for the millionth time, but I don't feel like I'm ever getting anywhere. I am at the point where I feel like there has to be one of those devices that cut off signals in a neighbors house or something that would explain such bad service.
Oh and I love that each tech has a different excuse for the cause of their service issues. I've been told *Bad modem *Too far from the junction box *I'm on a static IP and to call support when they leave(there was No static IP when I called) *I have too many device connected on my network *There's voltage on the line so they put a buffer(Another tech said there wasn't and removed it)
Does anyone else feel like they're being screwed around like this? Have you had similar issues you were able to resolve or should I give up? I call every week or so but nothing every changes. Definition of crazy.
Sorry for my half rant and my shitty sentence structure
