Ok, because I am tired of frowning at everyone who translates the sentences in google translate or ai, and then acts confident like they're somehow smarter than everyone - especially those who then say "go get it." honestly makes me wanna Will Smith them. *sigh* ok, rant over now here are my thoughts around it, with recent tips considered
Here's my 'help' to everyone regarding this clue, I hope it is helpful. It's probably already been considered anyway but just in case:
Grain Tower, Facing West, Latin, if we are looking to understand what this is by trying to associate it with someTHING, here's the clue solve:
Grain, after you understand the translation, means 'Granite'. You are looking for something that is tall, has a side or 'face' (clock, human statue, flat side with a clear west leading info) and is either made with granite, made of granite, or has the term Granite in the name somehow.
The OG of Latin was a big Western thinking fella, named Roman Cicero. He liked politics, western ways, and he was a Roman. Best locations?
- Anderson's Tower - Roman design, historic and gone now, made of granite, near/next to the Capitol, was west facing and monumental at the time.
- Temple Granite Quarry Historical Monument - Pretty obvious now why, right? There are a few potential spots out there.
- This is the Place main monument
- I have about 6 other solid solves for this, but it is along a different line of thinking. (Morton Salt is one, and for example is in bounds, has a person looking west, grains of salt, logo is on a tower of sorts, and connecting it to the poem, it's 'less than an hour' on their website from Downtown SLC) Granary, Crimson, Knudsen,
