Overloading via special cons, is it really that bad?
Post Body

Soooooo it turns out I failed a unit and now I want to overload in order to graduate on time (finish my studies end of this year). I've heard about special cons being a total pain in the ass. Not sure if that's true, or just the extreme cases.

There are a few things that are kinda against my favour though. I received an email in regards to academic progression for the first time (got marks of 47, 50, 52, so barely scrapped below the 50 WAM...) and now I want to apply to do a total of 36 CPs for Semester 2 (I'm a Science undergrad so we're permitted 30 be default from the looks of it, thus another 6 via special cons).

I did write out a fairly detailed "application" per se, explaining why I want/need to graduate asap (secured a grad role next year starting January) and outlined that I managed to complete a 30 CP semester once without any fails (this time round it's 6CP July Intensive and 30CP Sem2). What do you guys make of the situation? Do you think Special Cons will play its classic "no can do" or will they give me the chance and accept my special considerations applications given the circumstances and reasons I've outlined?

Would like some thoughts on this from people that have dealt with special cons before.
