California and Colorado backed up?

Post Body

Hi all! I live in Colorado and one of my friends lives in Texas. We both shipped each other early bday presents on 3/2/2021. Literally within minutes of each other we sent the other the picture of the tracking number and receipt. I did the small flat rate box and she did the medium size box, 2 day shipping. Her box got to me a day early and mine appears to have not even left Colorado? I guess I’m just wondering why the ship times are so much different? I thought with it being far away from holiday season it would be quicker. I would also think Texas would take longer because there’s more people so I’m very confused.

As for California,...I ordered an item from a seller on 2/26/2021 and I got an alert that it was shipped the following Tuesday (3/2/2021). It has been stuck in “Shipping label created, USPS awaiting item.” I messaged the seller on Saturday and they said they shipped it that day but have been seeing delays up to 3 weeks! The item is coming from San Marcos, CA if that means anything. Usually something from California to my house in Colorado takes 3 days tops. Would it really take 3 weeks and if so, is California just extremely backed up? The seller also said some people get no updates and it just delivers. How often does that happen?

I guess I’m mainly just looking for a place to vent but also get some sort of insight into the USPS in California. idk. Thanks y’all!
