Can someone explain to me package interception in the dumbest simplest way possibles

Long story short
Getting married had a package shipped to the address where the ceremony is(family lake house)
Unfortunately, it won't get there in time, so I did an interception and hold at what it looks like. Hopefully, my local post office
How do I know the interception was accepted?
