I'm currently a Psychology university student and have opted to take a years placement in an industry of my choice. I've been looking at UX internships both in my country (UK) and abroad. Almost all the internships that have been posted require the person applying to be "working towards a computer science degree".
From what i've read about a career in UX, computer science knowledge is not completely necessary. How can I, as a psychology student, find an internship? I have basic coding knowledge but thats about it. Am i searching for the internships wrong? I tend to use the search terms; UX design internship or user experience design internship. My portfolio is not completely where I want it, but it's coming along. Should I apply to internships that require a CS degree even if I don't have one? The job advertisements i've seen are quite explicit about what degrees they accept.
