Does anyone here also serve as a reserve police officer in addition to being in the Coast Guard?

I’m 18 years old and in the enlistment process. I know this is quite a ways off as many departments require you to be 21 years of age to join as a reserve police officer I’m curious though once I’ve reached 21 is it possible that my chain of command would allow me to be a reserve police officer in a nearby town or city?

Ever since I was a young child I’ve always wanted to be a police officer. Right now my main interest is to serve in the military once I get out though I’d like to be a full time police officer, I figure it wouldn’t hurt to have a little experience under my belt though when I decide to do that.
