I’ve been very fortunate to move up steadily in my organization at a comfortable pace. I’ve met the job goals I had when I first started my service. While I love my current position and am comfortable enough to keep doing it for the foreseeable future I still would like to keep my ambitious streak going. Unfortunately I’m not sure how to keep that momentum up. The path forward is not as clear cut now as it has been previously. Rather than a ladder it’s more of a branching fork in the road with no signboard. Without the direction of a clear goal I’m the type that loses motivation and gets cranky out of boredom.
I’d like to stay in federal service but I’m not ready to hunker down in the same place until I retire. Are there some career coach services that are specific to government work that I could look into?
