I believe that I am going to receive a TJO for a position at Guantanamo Bay. As a current GS-11, taking a promotion to GS-12 the ad states relocation expenses are authorized. It further states that relocation incentives may be authorized.
As it says relocation is authorized and relocation incentives may be authorized, does that mean I should ask for a relocation incentive?
It’s my understanding that they can give up to 25% of your base pay for up to 4 yrs.
76922/4=19,230.5
1yr= $19230
2yr= ($19230x2) =$38,460.00
3yr= ($19230x3) =$57,690.00
4yr= ($19230x4) =$76,920.00
If $76922 is the base pay and I would agree to a 4 yr tour, in theory that could allow me to get up to the $76922 as a lump sum payment?
“Relocation expenses reimbursed Yes—Relocation expenses (i.e. PCS) for candidates outside of the commuting area are authorized in accordance with applicable travel regulations and Department of Navy Policy. Relocation incentives as described in 5 USC 5753 may be authorized in accordance with applicable command policy.”
