I'm learning programming and I love playing city building games. I'm coding my own game because of the limitations I often experience in playing these types of games. The three big pillars of focus for my game is time, economy, and scale.
My game is not set in the modern day, although you can play in the modern day era or pick a different era start date, it is set in the early 1700s and your city builds up over time. I don't like how in many games you can pop down roads instantly, and buildings go up in a matter of days rather than months. Instead there will be a planner/editor mode, where you can place down roads and other structures and once you hit submit the AI will build them over a determined time span as long as construction is paid for monthly.
I can explain the other 2 big aspects of my game if y'all want to hear it, but I'm wondering what do y'all urban planner want in a city builder game that hasn't been done before or has been done poorly?
