Why do I see planners get upset they're not making any money? There's tons of high paying jobs

Post Body

Ive seen these posts about how some urban planners make very little money, and I think it's because most people are working at the county level. If you look at the federal gov database for jobs, there's literally hundreds of positions that pay over 100k a year. At least 100 I saw that pay 150

Gain experience and in 20 years of urban planning (if you start at 25 you'll be 45) you could be making fat stacks working for the state or federal government

Edit: 20 was a conservative estimate, theres jobs are not so advanced that you need that much time, I imagine 10 years experience is actually more than enough I was just trying to account for the worst possible scenario

It depends on where you live too. I was in the field for 15 years and never got close to $75k.

The problem is, all the fun planning is in areas that canโ€™t afford to pay you more than $50k. Itโ€™s fun though. The big money planning jobs OP refers to are boring AF. All the way to the bank.
