Hi, I’m a second year student this year. Last year I was fine until around August my mental health suddenly declined severely and I really should’ve taken term 3 off but couldn’t due to needing to fulfil the full-time requirements of a scholarship. I barely made it through term 3 (even physically on some days) and couldn’t sit through a lecture because my health became so bad. I was hoping I’d recover over the summer but I’m still not better and so I’m planning to take program leave for one term and was wondering if there are any negatives/disadvantages I’m not considering (other than the obvious delay in degree by one term and that some courses may not be offered in T2/3)?
I’ve always tried to keep studying even when my mental health has been non-existent and I’m a little scared of feeling ‘behind’ and am even considering maybe doing just one course instead of taking program leave.
Any advice would be appreciated!
