Phasmo Unique ghost mechanic - how is it done?

Been thinking about the dots projection mechanic all day and just can’t figure out how it’s done.
I tried recreating it but hiding the mesh but that wouldn’t explain how only the light from the dots projection shows on the mesh.
I am new to blueprints and game design in general 😂 just find the mechanic fascinating from a design point
