S/U Grading for a credit from last semester

Post Body

So towards the end of last semester, I got pretty sick. I ended up missing one of my exams for a course and my professor wouldn’t let me make it up. Luckily, I had a high enough grade that I didn’t end up completely failing the class, but the grade I ended up with weighed my GPA down a pretty significant amount relative to all my other courses (all of which were As and Bs). I spoke to an advisor about switching to S/U grading for the course when I was getting my schedule for the spring semester sorted (I’m undeclared as well), and she told me we’d have to discuss it further another time and that she’d have to sign off on it. After sending her multiple emails after this meeting I got no response, and by the time I figured out how to apply for S/U grading for the class myself it was past the January 5th deadline for doing it through MyNEVADA. The option to fill out a form is still available, but it specifically asks if you’ve met with an advisor about doing it, which technically I haven’t since we only touched on it for a second at the end of our meeting. I’m a first-gen college student so a lot of this stuff is new to me as is, and I don’t really know where to go from here. I’ve emailed both the admissions and records/financial office and haven’t received anything back either. Do I need to meet with another advisor, or is it even required for the form to be approved? I don’t want to fill it out once and have it be rejected off of those grounds. If anyone could help me out here I’d really appreciate it.
