For those of you who don’t know, Gavilyte is a colonoscopy prep drink that makes you literally crap water.
It’s a bunch of powder in a 4L carton you have drink throughout the day.
Many people absolutely can’t stand it to the point of vomiting.
This is my 2nd colonoscopy and first time drinking this. Listening to people talk about this stuff and reading people’s stories about how horrible it is, you’d think it’d taste like soap.
Is it pleasant? No. But it’s not horrible. It just tastes like saline with a slightly metallic aftertaste that goes away in a second.
I will admit, it makes me feel a bit nauseous, but like 2/10 for 30s after drinking it.
Overall, not enjoyable but what medicine is? (besides the pink stuff you got as a kid)
Overall, I think the hate against Gavilyte is blown way out of proportion.
(Fun fact: typing this on the toilet…it definitely works)
