I hear a lot of prattle that the current generation or state of the world has forgotten or forsaken love in relationships due to the high number of divorces and the such. However I don't believe that is true. About a century ago things like divorce were highly stigmatized, women had barely any say in marriages. So if you were unhappy with someone or they hurt you, you couldn't back out easily and the social cost would he high.
These days divorce and getting out of bad relationships is not so stigmatized, women have actual choices when it comes to their partners. The current generation does not somehow value these things less because of this, it's just that there is no longer a mask for all this shit to hide behind.
