Loot ruins story driven games

Rdr2 did it perfect because you looted things that realistically would be looted if you lived in that type of environment but for example god of war 4 I dont wanna loot or grind for things. The game seems highly story driven and the fact that i gotta break random ass chests and go out of my way to find some secret loot takes me out of the story . Like I know theres people who are gonna say, " ohh the loot is not mandatory no one is forcing you to get it" which bulshit because most of the time the only way I can feel powerful in a game is to loot a shit ton.
