The moment you go public with allegations, you intend to cancel whoever you are accusing.
Post Body

I’ve seen many people come out with stories of abuse and toxic behavior but always say that people shouldn’t cancel or hate on the other party, but I always find that hypocritical.

Am I diminishing the trauma that the victims’ face? Absolutely NOT. I do think that there stories need to be told and shared. I also think it’s horrible that many people had to relive this experience over again when they typed their response.

What I’m mostly criticizing is the notion of accusing someone and then backtracking by saying to not spread hate. I understand that the victim may not want to spread hate, but the moment you post something like that, you have to commit the fact that the other person will suffer.

Take for example, Lilypichu and Albert. They were two popular streamers and were a couple. Albert cheated and BEFORE Lily could make a statement, her friends subtweeted. She even says that she wishes she could’ve done things differently since Albert basically lost his entire career over this. Is cheating bad? 100%. Does it warrant the loss of years of hard work or your career? Well I’ll leave that up to you guys.

Now look at ProJared. The internet made him the punching bag and memed the shit out of him. Dude literally had his whole career shatter over false accusations but the internet didn’t care. Even popular YouTubers were joking in like Pamela Horton and Phil Defranco. Suddenly, Jared comes out with evidence upon evidence that exonerates him entirely. Suddenly, everyone is back on his side. Jared even calls them out. DeFranco even deleted Jared’s comment on one of his videos that said Phil posted about this issue without talking to him and slandered him as well.

I’ve seen many posts on Reddit that literally repeat the same thing the victims said: Don’t hate the accused. Do people care? NO. I don’t care if I get downvoted. These public figures need to stop pretending like they have no influence over the internet.

The internet never forgets so the moment you post something like that, that accuses will be canceled, one way or another. There is no middle ground. Stop saying to not cancel the other party. No matter what you say, not matter the amount of upvotes your comment is on your subreddit, the moment you decide to go public with accusation even if it’s the right thing to do, you will be condemning the other party.
