Were the atomic bomb drops on Hiroshima and Nagasaki terrible? Yes, of course. Were they much less terrible than the alternative, a full scale invasion of Japan? Yes, of course. And did Japan start this war as an aggressive, dangerous imperialist conqueror? Yup.
I often see the atomic bombs mentioned as one example of US bloodshed and right now one of the top posts here is comparing it to lives lost from terrorism. I donβt know why people mention the atomic bombs at all as an atrocity. They saved hundreds of thousands or more of Japanese lives. There are much better examples of the US doing awful things than this.
