Chicago gives you the best bang for your buck as far as big cities go:
- It’s a hell of a lot cleaner than NYC. NYC is DISGUSTING
- People are a hell of a lot nicer (generally) and aren’t assholes for the sake of being an asshole
- Chicago feels like a big city, looks like a big city, operates like a big city which a lot of people like to go for when it comes to experiencing the world or choosing where to live. NYC does all of that, but with an extra headache involved
- Chicago has the better architecture by far
