We glorify police and military to an unbelievably cringeworthy level.

Yes, they put their lives on the line, but not all that they do is good. Between harrassment of innocent civilians to war crimes, they aren't as good as the media portrays them. Every time someone says "Respect our troops" or "blue lives matter" its fueled by their patriotic boner and you're considered unamerican if you disagree.
