I was born in 1999 and I am thankful I was born in the generation I was born into.
Why? Well for staters my life would be more difficult.
If I was born in the 1960s I would have lived though the AIDS crisis that killed many people and gave a large stigma towards gay men (I am gay btw)
If I was born in early 20th century I would have been discriminated against being Polish, Italian and Syrian in the United States (yes I understand Syrians face discrimination today). Also I would be working 60 hours a week as working class citizen most likely.
If I lived anytime before this (in Poland, Italy or Syria) I would have been in more poverty than I would living in the United States around the 1930.
The point I’m trying to make is we take for granted the times we live in and think the world is getting worse when in actuality it is much better times for everyone.
I am thankful for the times I live in and cringe when people say “I was born in the wrong generation”.
