The (USA) Midwest is a vocabulary misnomer and needs to die ASAP.
Post Body

A misnomer is; "a wrong or inaccurate name or designation."

The midwest is the central north EAST cluster of states in the US.

The name was named such because of the state of the country in the 1800s. It was "The West" at the time. This is no longer true and hasn't been for the majority of our history. We hold onto this name as a historical reference but as a name, its totally misleading and does not function as a descriptor. A misnomer.

If anything this section of the country is "Mideast" or "Heartland". Or even "Former Midwest".

Traditions for tradition sake can and should die where they stand.
