I am writing this as a catholic who after the death of his sister and mother by the age of 24, and witness to many unfathomable monstrosities performed by humans to each other and to young children, that now realises what is going on. Some would say “woke”.

Religion. I do believe in a higher being that started this all, but I am an engineer that thinks practically as well. What i believe is that something fashioned us way at the start something started that initial spark of creation/chemical/physical reaction that started us all. But thats it thats all they did. They have lost control. Do not tell me they are caring about every one of us that they control whether or not a small innocent baby lives or dies or even if you or I live or die. Its circumstance its what happens its chance its being unlucky. We are in a volatile earth where ANYTHING can happen. All I know is there are good and bad things that happen.

Religion: Religion was created because way back in the day the slightly smarter cave men realised well wait a minute I didnt like that feeling when that other cave person stole my meal, killed my sheep, shagged my partner, hit me........ etc etc (we could be here for a while). They did not like these feelings and so a group of them got together maybe some wiser elders while they watched these things happen and thought hmm we are not going to survive long if this is how we go about our business!!!

So they sat down and created rules ways of living and to back up those rules they either created a God that would instill punishments through them or leave it to “chance” to get them.

Gods: Yes i initially they probably feared things as being godlike at the start like the sun, volcanoes, the sea, earthquakes.... etc. Whatever they had witnessed in great abundance that caused great destruction or even a group that maybe realised that the sun and water and earth were the things that gave them life. They knew that without these they would certainly die. So yes i think right away these would have been the first gods as we have seen with the Egyptians and romans.

Without the stories/rules/guidelines of these religions, i think yeah. If you were put on this earth with no communication nobody to talk to no learning nothing you would realise that, the sun kept you warm and grew plants, water kept you aive and helped things grow, fish and animals kept you fed fire kept you warm (thor or zeus for lightning) wow the first person that witnessed that must have blew their minds no wonder he feared that right away. Loads of things that without, humans would certainly be dead.

Different religions: There are different religions because there were different colonies around the earth that all started growing and each group realised right fuck we cant have wee Johnny keep killing people or wee Isiah stealing blah blah blah... we need to create some form of ORDER. And so the stories were created.

Some total genius or group of genius thought we better create these stories in order to create order, rules to live by. Something to have hope for once it all ends. Rather than total impending doom that maybe there is nothing in the after life and that things just Happen.

Ok physically its a circle of life you are born you live and you die. But your ashes or body will decompose and you are then fertiliser to keep a whole other amount of cells and little tiny beings alive and you live through them.

I may have lost my way but If you really think about it, like that first cave person that feared something greater than themselves or that realised that they were thankful for that river or chicken they ate or drank that day that thats what they should be giving them hope or thats what gives them a good feeling. Those group of people wrote those stories at the time i bet did not know what they were creating i bet just like the original being created those stories which have then totally blown out of proportion and we are now at where we are today!

Like the circle of of life (very lion king) ive gone for circle about chemical/physical reaction that started it all but has lost control just like the being and just like the elders that started the stories in each colony around the world.

If they knew what it would lead up to I bet they would have second thoughts.
