There's like a feeling you get when you hear two words that rhyme. People are taught that there are objective rules that make something rhyme or not, but these rules do not always give everyone that Rhyme feeling. Additionally, some words people feel like rhyme, where others feel like the words don't rhyme at all. Realistically a multitude of aspects contribute to something sounding like a rhyme(similarity of sounds, complexity of sounds preceding it...), and con't be simplified into just "the endings sound the same".
Whether something rhymes should be treated like whether something is tasty. Many people say that sweet things are tasty, but you can't generalize that to everyone. The same should be applied to rhymes, where people subjectively decide whether something rhymes.
