Pancakes and Syrup are the worst combo

I mean come on. You can have fruit on your pancakes, butter, ice cream, literally anything imaginable and yet the majority believe that the ultimate way of enjoying pancakes is with syrup.
I think it's overrated. You may as well melt a candy bar and throw that on top too then because that's pretty much what syrup is. I'm not saying pancakes and syrup are a terrible combo because syrup is unhealthy, I'm saying they're a terrible combo because they don't compliment each other at all.
