The only celebrities whose death matters are young ones or older ones who are still active and making content.
Post Body

For example, I think Anton Yelchin’s unfortunate young death a few years ago or Mac Miller’s just a few weeks back were a lot more impactful to a lot more people than say, an actress who was the main character in a couple movies 50 years ago with nothing new or notable since then. If they’re still doing stuff like making new songs, starring (or even being in) big movies, then that’s a bummer because they can no longer release new content for us to enjoy. If they’re inactive for 10 years in any form of media, I can’t bring myself to feel bad or have any emotion at all about it.

Maybe some clarification to why o think this could be unpopular is that I’ve seen some posts on this sub along the lines of “I don’t care about celebrities” or “I don’t care about deaths of famous people,” things of the like. I’m saying that sometimes it really sucks when an actor or musician is in their prime and they suddenly die and leave us all hanging.
