Getting married to someone with less than 5-10 years of relationship history
Post Body

Is an idiot choice to make and is, in my opinion, the reason the divorce rates are as high as they are and why there are so many broken up families around the world. There are various other reasons for that too but Iā€™m talking about failed marriages due to sheer incompatibility from the get go.

Me and my partner have been together for 16 years from high school. Weā€™re not married and only just having our first child. I know her inside out and there are no surprises or ā€œred flagsā€ I donā€™t know about. I KNOW sheā€™s the one, and thatā€™s why even at 16 years we arenā€™t in a particular rush to get married because we already are in our minds, weā€™ll get the paper for it soon enough.

I seriously questions someoneā€™s thought process of getting married within a year or two and then being confused on how they ā€œdidnā€™t know this person at all!, they werenā€™t the person I thought they were!!ā€

Within 1-2 years, do you really know someone at all except for face value? You might think you do, but you donā€™t. Only time will tell who a person really is, and 1-5 years isnā€™t enough.
