PS I love you is on TV now, and, wow... I thought he was trying to do an American accent first (also really abysmal at; I'm not American but, a deaf person could hear how bad it is) - until Hillary Swank referred to him as Irish in the film...
Why on Earth would they have him try to do an Irish accent? for one. Would American mainstream audiences really care about Irish v Scottish (which he is) anyway :/ they get them mixed up all the time anyway haha.
What a bizarre thing to do.
And it's bloody awful. Like, distracting. People can say 'oh it doesn't matter' but it does bc it's distracting! You can't focus on what's being said when it's so bad, and you can't believe the person is real.
The writing in this is so bad too, unless he impromtu'd ''kiss me bloody arse'' but nobody from Ireland (unless from the 1800s) speaks like that lmao. 'me bloody arse'. Oh me blarney!
I dunno why people can't just be where they're from in all films, especially British and other actors in US films anyway. It's not like there's not people from all over the world living in America, or Americans will go 'WHAT'S THIS!' n storm out.
