I think it's cringy when people start bragging about how abusive their parents were.

I've seen it on a number of occasions.
"My dad/ mom hit me with a shoe, belt, switch, bat etc." It's like they are proud they were abused. Its not funny, or cool, or good in any way. Maybe someone can explain this to me? I don't get it.
