(I think this is unpopular but idk)
IMO people are a bit too obsessed or they don’t realize really what Kpop is.
Kpop is k(orean) pop, I’ve encountered many people that say “Koreans are so spoiled omg”, true, they should be.
I mean, imagine if you were famous, and only spoke idk, english. Would you prefer to meet Americans, australians, British with whom you can communicate well or some Chinese people that will try to talk to you in a broken English.
It’s really common sense, you don’t think fans of a French artist are deprived from them, because the majority of people stan musicians or singers for their music.
Kpop is Kpop, it makes sense that your oppa’s company doesn’t want to tour in your country nor make a fan meet because it’s not profitable. Same as it is expensive to pay someone to do the caps in some languages.
You are used to seeing your fav on the tv, the radio wherever, that is why maybe, you think idols should promote more globally, because you’re comparing them to pop.

The targeting of Japan by Kpop is just WAY more well-developed (has been going on for 15 years). I feel like I-fans sometimes get way too impatient with such things. It IS improving as the demand for KPOP increases in the West. I think companies are approaching Western accommodation quite carefully as it is still difficult for most to tell if the sudden rise in popularity of Kpop in the West is a fad or here to stay (important for them to consider to make HUGE investments, e.g. investing in targeted fan clubs/translators/etc.).
Also, I'm from East Asia, where Western (American) artists are VERY popular, but barely anyone complains about us receiving unfair treatment or not having concerts, etc, and barely any artist comes to where I live (Hong Kong). Western kpop fans HAVE a sense of entitlement whether you like to admit it or not. They've just never been used to not having things their way, while most other fans from other parts of the world are very much used to it because that's how we've always been treated by the West.
