So I can't find a good answer on this so here I come to this subreddit. So my question is, is the universe flat or on the same plane. All of the planets in our solar system are in a straight line due to the rotation of gases around the sun, except for Pluto I think is off the plane by 17° I read. So if everything is in a straight line, how can we see stars looking up or side to side or any direction. I also heard the universe is more of a dome/bubble shape? So I guess another way of asking my question is if I'm in a rocket and take off from anywhere, but while in space I move to.the position above the north pole. If I were to go straight up, would I find stars and galaxies. Same with straight down and such. Sorry if it's confusing
