Omni directional dashing. I am trying to program in a dash mechanic in a 2d platformer that can send the player in all directions depending on what keys or directions they hold on the joystick. How would I go about this?

I am also wanting to add in a grappling hook mechanic that uses the same directional inputs for the dash as well so any suggestions on good correlation on those would be immensely appreciated
