Summary - Just like in a democracy, the collective effort of all citizens results in a good future for the country , on a humanitarian level , people who do good , together cause a positive future of the human race.

Explanation - out of a billion people in our country (india ), several million don't even turn up to vote . And very few who vote actually put effort into researching who the right candidate is. They spend their time , energy to go to polling booths . Some even donate to parties for non-selfish reasons. The outcome is that a good capable leader gets elected and the bad incapable ones get filtered out. But who reaps the benefit of all this ? Every citizen . Even those who voted for the wrong leaders, and those who didn't bother to vote. Can we do anything to selectively reward the diligent voters or punish the lazy stupid voters/non voters ? No. Should this lack of reward demotivate us from putting efforts , doing our duty etc ? Definitely not. Because simply , we won't gain much by not doing our duty. Work should be done because it satisfies reason, aligns with our life objective , and we find passion in it and not merely for expectations of reward .

So, similarly , on a humanitarian level , we must add positive value to the world . Do our fair share of work . Contribute , support and spread good vibes. Be kind. Be diligent. Be prudent. It might happen that we feel we are not getting fullest result of our hard work or someone else is reaping the benefit . But that's how life is programmed to be. In history , so many freedom fighters shed their sweat, blood and tears , for a collective benefit. They didn't do the selfish thing . They did the smart thing. What did they gain , beyond a statue erected in their name ? Or some reverence in history books. The answer is , alot more. This life of ours may not be limited to just this life. After we leave this earth, there may be a world beyond, or another life . And even if you don't believe in this afterlife nonsense , let me ask you the counter question , what did those people who did nothing during the freedom struggle, and lazily sat in their comfort zone , enjoying TV , in the comforts of their palaces , selfishly concerned only about their interests and their pleasures , eventually gain in the end , when their life was about to come to its conclusion ? They sit in the same coffin as the former , maybe a more decorated one with jewels , but still not more comfortable.
