How did we get to this stage in the British justice system?
Post Body

In light of the conviction of the teenage whom murdered someone with an afro comb Here I have a question to ask;

How did we get to the stage in the British justice system where 10 - 15 years is ample punishment for the taking of someone's life?

I mean, long long ago we hung people for murder, and I remember people receiving "life sentences" that actually meant "life" when I was younger. How did we get to the point where 10 - 15 years was acceptable?
