Are Tories less likely to mention their party affiliation in their Twitter bio?
Post Body

Every now and then, a tweet from a Conservative MP will be posted here. I noticed when clicking through to Twitter that it was often the case that they didn't mention their party in their bio, and it got me wondering: do Tories hide their party affiliation more than, say, Labour?

I worked for a Cabinet Minister for 3 years (a coalitious Lib Dem), but I changed career in 2018 to become a software developer. Have always wanted to blend my interests with my new found skill set. Some of you may already have used my Disgraced Former Defence Secretary Liam Foxinator chrome extension.

I set up a program to scrape all 589 MPs twitter bios (a small minority don't have twitter accounts) and analysed the data.

The full details will be in a link at the bottom but I like to lazily reddit & am not precious about driving clicks to my website, so in order to bust the clickbait, here's the key bits:
MPs pie charts
MSPs pie charts

Only 41% of Tory MPs mentioned their party, compared to 83% of Labour.

I don't know if this is even useful research, but I found it interesting enough. Maybe you will too
