Newly qualified driver insurance help

I just passed my driving test yesterday but cannot find any cheap insurance for like a week or a day to cover me on my dad's car. I want to drive by myself but the only cover i found was a 1 day insurance but I had to be a qualified driver for at least 6 months. I had another daft quote for 9.5K for a year lol Any advice on what companies do this.
