Is the minimum eyesight requirement for UK police flexible of strict?
Post Body

I really want to join the police specials and am eligible in every way I just have a bit worse eye sight than the minimum required eye sight. The minimum is 6/36, but I have 6/48. However my optician did a test and I can see 6/36 if a really squint my eyes. Will I need to wait for laser eye surgery or will I have a chance of getting past the medical?

I am currently in the police explorers programme and am 18 years old and am apply to volunteer as a PSV (police support volunteer) or a CVS (Police community volunteer scheme) and also trying to apply for a volunteering role with the British Transport Police. However it is really depressing that my bad eyesight runs down in the family.
