United domestic first meal mileage length

Iām flying RNO-DEN and the direct mileage between the two airports is 804 statute miles. United claims flights over 800 miles receive a meal in first class however the flight status on the app says United first only receives a snack. How does United determine the mileage between cities and if they get first class meal service?
